Desert Elegance

Here is some of my latest design work for my final project this year!. I became inspired by the theme of "Desert Elegance" for Spring/Summer 2014 The concept behind this theme is to combine relaxed 19070s styling with abstract North African decoration for an elegant nomadic look, in line with the Neo-Geo macro trend. I wanted to design a collection of woman's wear clothing with a twist on what i have seen for this trend previously, instead on focusing on print I wanted to take a more relaxed approach focusing on clean silhouettes and tailoring, leading into a more formal evening gowns with a feminine feel. I wanted these designs to capture my inspiration of various desert landscapes that I had been looking at, the movement of the wind blowing across these beautiful landscapes.

Retro Hollywood Glamour

I thought I would show you some of my work that I have been working on over the last month in university. This project was very free range and I was able to design under my own label "Anthony Yassin Couture"

I designed a range of women's evening wear garments that will be made to measure. The range was inspired by two exhibitions that I visited "Valentino: Master of Couture" at Summerset House and the "Hollywood Costumes" at the V&A. I was so inspired by these exhibitions that I based my concept on old hollywood glamour, I wanted to design a collection around this theme, with pieces such as the little black dress and cocktail dresses. All of this would be infused by couture fashion design and fabrics, with embroidery an surface detail like hand beading. I wanted to use key elements from this concept to see the clear link in my designs, such as colour and fabric but most importantly silhouette. But i really wanted to create something new with a twist and bring this theme up to date and modern for Autumn/Winter 2014.

Sheen Of Burberry Prorsum Women's A/W2013

FANTASTIC!"Burberry Prorsum" really laid on a beautifully simply wilder collection for Autumn/Winter 2013, entitled "Trench Kisses". Keeping true its truly british heritage, by opening with traditional trench coat, But this season giving it a updated modern twist by using a semi-transparent "Sheen Fabric on this staple garment and adding a infusion of colour with the Ruby wine pallet. As the collection carried on prancing down the runway this delightful "Sheen"quality seamed to keep on popping up in different pieces of outfits.

However Christopher Bailey still seamed to have full control of the brands identity keeping it true to what Burberry stands for with colour and silhouettes, but on the other hand pushing it another direction bring something new and interesting to this long lasting label by adding transparent glossy numbers, eye catching metallic metal details with belts and collars and to finish of wild prints like leopard spots and love heart prints.

Again Burberry continued to push the boundaries of its social media hype and opened its doors and broadcast the show as it was happening to the entire world.

Disney Princesses Go High Fashion

I don't know what has took me so long to discover this illustrations! But now that I have, I think I've fell in love all over again.

Just browsing through some fashion illustration Blogs and I came across this amazing drawings of eight "Disney Princesses" I didn't think they could become more magical or beautiful.... But OH YES! fashion has given them a little make over and brought them bang up to date by gracing them with their own Vogue Front Cover. Giving them a sense of style that fits in to the modern day world that makes up the fashion industry, designing each of them an new up dated look on these previous outfit.

These Illustrations are by the illustrator Dante Tyler Brown, I am just in love with these drawing and think that they are just works of art.

Home Of The Bee

Beyoncé Sings the National Anthem, 'The Star-Spangled Banner', At the 2013 presidential Inauguration ceremony

At President Obama's inauguration ceremony, which was a sea of famous faces in most beautiful fashion garments Beyoncé Knowles stepped out and sang Americas National Anthem but not only blowing us away with her voice and performance, She had on one the most beautifully embroidered black evening gown by one of my favourite designers Emilio Pucci. The contrast between the black dress next to her blonde golden waves was magical but then teaming it up with ever so special dazzling Emerald earrings by Lorraine Schwartz (reportedly wort $1.8million) well "BEE" you just blow us away

Its All In The Dress

This is one of my Favourite times of the year! Most normal people look forward to their birthday's or christmas but not me I love this time of year because it is the month that showcase the latest S/S couture Fashion.

This season for S/S 2013 I think that Giambattista Valli really captured the essence of Couture Fashion. Creating such beautiful garments with shape and design, which painted that picture of fantasy with a sprinkle of art. Now isn't that really what couture is all about.

Just by looking at this collection it is clear to everyones eye, even the no-fashionista that this collection is the epitome of High-end Haute Couture style by tacking some tricksome shapes that wouldn't so much work in the realms of RTW: mini crinis and full shapes of skirts; longer training lengths at the back to shorter splaying ones at the at the front. With a modern day twist on the cigarette pants by adding a bodice on top with a side train of over indulgence fabric rapidly dropping down behind.

Giambattista Valli is one designer this season that has kept the essence of couture alive but pushed the boundaries apart. Here are some images of his beautifully inspiring collection.

B Is Back To Business

After the GQ Februarys 2013 front cover was leaked they decided to release the official cover. My oh my what more can I say! Mrs Beyoncé Knowles in All her glory.... she is "Back To Business"

The Photoshoot was shoot by no other than the fabulous Terry Richardson. He really seemed to capture   the essence of Beyoncé and portrayed her in the best light ever. But I don't think it was all due to his camera work and lighting, It looks like somebody has been putting in some sort of work because I don't know any other post pregnancy bodies that look as good as this!

In the spread Beyoncé is showcasing her new body in a revealing cut-off top and extremely small zippered animal-print underwear and football jersey shirt, which I think is all in aid of her upcoming performance on the super bowel on Feb 3rd 2013... The 31- year- old singer is all curves and skin on the cover, which Hails her as one of the 100 sexiest women of the 21st century.

The Full spread will be revealed by GQ in its entirety on Jan. 15, with the issue hitting newsstands on Jan. 22.
